RCVC says “NO” to Gender-Based Violence!

As part of the international campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence,” which takes place annually from November 25 to December 10, the RCVC team organized an informational survey among refugees and local residents. The purpose of this initiative was to assess the community’s level of awareness about gender-based violence, available protection mechanisms, and resources accessible to survivors.
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign is a global movement that unites thousands of organizations around the world. Its mission is to draw attention to violence against women and girls, strengthen prevention efforts, support survivors’ rights, and promote the values of equality and safety. Throughout these 16 days, various activities are held worldwide, including awareness campaigns, educational events, open discussions, and advocacy initiatives.
During the RCVC event, participants were offered a short quiz to test their knowledge of the campaign’s key messages, including:
— the different forms of gender-based violence;
— where to seek help;
— which organizations provide support;
— what rights survivors have.
Respondents showed great interest and engagement, shared their opinions, and asked questions. As a token of appreciation, participants received branded gifts — tote bags with the campaign’s design, notebooks, and informational brochures containing useful materials on preventing violence and accessing support services.
Such initiatives help strengthen community awareness and enhance collective readiness to prevent and respond to gender-based violence. RCVC will continue its efforts to promote a culture of respect, equality, and safety for all.
